Seminar introducing GeneProof kit in HBV diagnosis

On March 3 2014, Biomedic held a seminar to introduce GeneProof PCR kit in HBV at National Hospital of Tropical diseases. There was attendance of Mr. Nguyen Van Kinh, Ph.D. – Director of hospital.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh – Biomedic’s Field Application Specialist reported the statistics of hepatitis B in Vietnam as well as in the world in 2013. There were 400 million people with chronic HBV, 60 thousand people died of hepatitis B and high rate of patients with hepatitis B in Vietnam. Therefore, scientist and especially doctors have to quickly develop and apply modern molecular techniques which are PCR and especially real time PCR in diagnosis and support for hepatitis in keeping track and curing patients with hepatitis in Vietnam.

In the report, Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh emphasized: “PCR and real time PCR are a completely open-technique therefore, it is possible to use open-systematic kits to decrease cost for Real time PCR. Kit set of GeneProof is used in micro-organism diagnosis and genetic diagnosis based on real time PCR, granted CE-IVD and optimized for different PCR  systems”

In the seminar, Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh also showed the comparison result on running quantitive HBV using kit Geneproof and Cobas Taqman with high homology and permitted difference. Kit GeneProof is considered as replacing solution for Real time close system and cost reducing of Real time PCR reaction.
